It is not enough for us to know that we have a divine purpose. We must take action and Move Forward in what God has called each of us to do. Many of us are familiar with the story of Moses and how he delivered the people of Israel from the hands of the Egyptian Pharaoh.  When the Israelites were first released, they rejoiced because they knew they were destined to inherit the land of Canaan, a land flowing with milk and honey. However, as they set out to fulfill their destiny, they ran into challenges and obstacles (have any of you experienced this?) and they began to lose faith (can you relate?).  In fear, they began to cry out to God and complain to Moses because the Egyptian army was heavily pursuing them.  In Exodus 14, we find Moses’ reply:

“Fear not; stand still (firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will work for you today. For the Egyptians you have seen today you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.” The Lord said to Moses,” Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go [move] forward!” (Exodus 14:13 – 15 Amplified)

Often times as we begin to Move Forward in our lives, we feel like the Israelites – that an army of Egyptians is pursuing us. The “Egyptians” in our life may be fear, doubt, or discouragement. Or the “Egyptians” may be mistakes from our past that are trying to keep us in bondage. Or it may be negativity from others – people telling us that we can’t Move Forward because we’re too old, too young, unqualified, unworthy, etc.

However, the message that God had for the Israelites is the same one that He has for us today. He is telling us to continue to Move Forward because His word and promises remain true!! He has delivered us from every yoke and bondage that would try to hinder us from fulfilling our destiny. He does not want us to be held back by fear or negativity. He has set us free from our past!!

You can have confidence to Move Forward because God has already equipped you with everything that you need. His word says that you are more than a conqueror! You are fearfully and wonderfully made! Everything that you touch shall prosper and no weapon formed against you shall prosper! You are a new creation! Your children will rise up and call you blessed! You are the apple of God’s eye and He will NEVER leave you or forsake you!! Trust & lean on Him, because He cares deeply for you.

Let’s make 2013 a year like never before. Let’s commit to Move Forward and inherit all that God has planned for us!
